Mrs, Soye Aroloye Brown, wife of the former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Council of Rivers State, located along Aker road Port Harcourt and abducted her to unknown released her at about 1 am today.

The abductors had established contact with the former local Government boss and initially demanded 100million Naira ransom but later scaled it down toN50million,N20 million and N10 million threatened that the ex-chairman was the target and would be killed.

It is not clear yet what amount the ex-local boss was be able to cough out that assuaged the abductors that to got the wife released exactly a year after the mother to the ex-local boss was abducted and released.

In a text message announcing the release of his abducted wife,Chief Aroloye Brown said, “This is to inform you that my wife,Mrs. Soye Brown has been released after the mandatory rituals had been fulfilled.

“She was released about 1 am on Saturday, August 28, 2010.Thank you for your support” Chief Aroloye Brown.

It would be recalled that about 7.30 pm on Wednesday night abductors stormed the shop of Mrs, Soye Aroloye Brown, wife of the former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Council of Rivers State, located along Aker road Port Harcourt and abducted her to unknown destination.

The former Council boss who contacted a Port Harcourt based radio Station through text message over the incident said: “My wife Soye Aroloye Brown was kidnapped about 7.30 pm 25th August, 2010, along Aker Road,Port Harcourt in her shop. They came with a Gulf Car with registration No.DW 61 APP (lagos).Chief Aroloye Brown.”

Chief Aroloye Brown is a chieftain of the Peoples Democracy Party, PDP, in the state and was Council boss during the Dr. Peter Odili, administration.
