Armed robbers this morning raided two banks at Oju-Ore, Ota, Ogun State, carting away millions of naira.
P.M.NEWS investigations revealed that the robbers stormed the area in two vehicles, a black jeep, white Toyota bus and two motorcycles, brandishing sophisticated weapons.
Customers at an old generation bank robbed said the robbers entered the bank and carted away money.
“They started firing into the air and ordered us to lie down and everybody was afraid,†he disclosed. Staff of the other bank robbed, a new generation one, were too afraid to comment on the incident.
Police sources at Sango confirmed the raid, saying the police were already on the trail of the robbers who fled towards Ifo, another town in Ogun State.
Two staff of the first generation bank, including a security guard were seriously injured and are now being treated at an undisclosed private hospital.
Four of the banks’ staff were allegedly kidnapped and driven away in the jeep belonging to the bandits.
Efforts to speak with the Sango Area Commander proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
