Passengers with Aero Contractors airline now pay as much as 50 different fares for the same flight, P.M.NEWS checks have revealed.
Investigations revealed that passengers who book their tickets online pay different fares within minutes. The difference can be as much as N15, 000.
This is different from passengers who book online two to three weeks ahead for promos.
P.M.NEWS checks on www.flyaero.com the airline’s website or http://m.flyaero.com for passengers booking via their phones, show that the price keeps changing almost every minute.
It was observed that a passenger that books at 10 a.m. on a particular day may not pay the same fare for the same flight and the same class at 10.2 a.m.
The difference, P.M.NEWS can reveal, varies between N2,000 and N15, 000 for the same flight and same economy class.
But the airline told our correspondent this morning that it is the airline business model.
“The change in booking fare depends on seat availability. This is Aero low fare business model,†it said in a statement today.
But P.M.NEWS investigations revealed that the fares sometime can be twice more the amount charged at the counter.
Meanwhile, investigations revealed further that some airlines do not keep pace with bank reforms.
For instance, though some banks have almost phased out interswitch ATM cards and replaced them with MasterCard, a particular airline has continued to use interswitch cards and does not accept MasterCard for payment.

but this news sounds somehow, Nigerians want quality but they dont like paying, this reported trend is the same all over the world, please report and expose IBB, OBJ etc not airlines. no one forces you to board planes and by the way do you know how much it is per liter to fuel a plane? landing charges, insurance, salary payment, paying nepa thats never there running generating sets common letts be realistic. ibadan pikin u dont realy think so i bet u have never paid for a plane ticket before.
@Ibadan pickin: Your comments truely confirmed you’re a local champion who has not travelled out of the shores of this country. It is a standard practice that airfare becomes more expensive the closer is it to the flight departure time. The lesson is that the you should always plan your trips. You sounded like one of those guys who will just wake from a nap and decide to sleep at Ibadan, carrying his handbag to stay at “Berger” or “Lagos Toll Gate end” waiting for “lift”.
i m so disappointed with some of d comment some of u r makin, especially tundus.do u no how much aero contractors save 4 ppl every day.i m sure u r sayin all this rubbish becos u v neva used a plain b4.if u fly 4 as low as 7k wen u r suppose 2 pay 17k then u wil appreciate wat this airline is doin.
am a living evidence,i boarded same flight with a guy that sat be side me but we pay different price, but i believed is their system all over the world.am also using this medium to commend aero contractor for the great job their doing,i think their making things easier for the masses.
This pricing system is peculiar to the world’s aviation marketing technique. Its really and issue untill Nigerian operators take undue advantage of this system which they would eventually. The sector need support so buy your flight tickets early.
Simon Ateba u are full of ignorance i dont expect this type of write up from pmnews check all over the world that is d story. coss i missed my flight by 5 mins i have to pay x2 for the sam airline fron london to frace. so wake up and take advantage coss if u book days b4 ur flight it will be cheap
EARO airline is waiting desater, the plane they use to fry Ghana MOLU is better.
It is no news that air travellers pay different fares for same flight especially if booked at different times online. Here in Europe, air travellers pay different fares depending on when they book online and the promotion available. People can check ryanair, vueling, easyjet etc at hourly intervals and probable see that fares varies
Tunde or what did u call ur name. You openly exposed ur ignorance and willingness to be cheated for the rest of ur life by writing the above ignoble response. It would have been better if u had kept quiet. Have you ever heard of consumer protection laws. Those laws are available quite here in Nigeria but bcos of the ignorance of someone like you, and no one is checking on this people, our right in this area are being trampled upon. Now, you see someone that is bringing this issue to light you open your mouth ‘gbaga’ to caastigate him. I wish u write letter of apology to pm and do thank them for bringing this issue to the limelight. I bet you, someone like you dont even know the location of airport talkless or buying air ticket, and I am sure you are writing from a cybercafee……awon didinrin dede. Thanks Simon Ateba for bringing this ignoble act of aero contractors to the public.
Simon Ateba you news item is so dry. Of what relevance is the fact that prices change if you search the internet for airline fares then this article will not be a news item. My advise to you is to write reports that will cage those that are destroying this nation by exposing them like saharareporters has been doing and not go to their houses to dine with them like your collegues did in babangida house
This is poor reporting, I think Aero should be praise for the big change to the booking. All over the world online booking is not Static, you may pay 5% of the price of the person sitting next to you.
Oga Simon, what has Bank reform got to do with cards, Did you remember Smartpay in the 90’s and even value card?
Cards business also changes and has nothing to do with reform or drama as we have it
im really appalled at this report, it shows that most of pm s reporters are not informed or better put exposed. if you guys know the trend out there or if you do you would know how aviation is run. i dare you to go to any international airline and find out , how the fare rules are and how the apply. i am an airline practitioner and i know how its done, or is it that someone paid you to smear the name of this esteemed company. PM news is a disgrace your reports are mostly copied, paid for and biased no real news. please close shop and start a farm or something…….
