Residents of Odan Isashi in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, South West Nigeria, have appealed to the state governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, to extend his administration’s act of benevolence to the community by rehabilitating the only major road in the area, linking Odan to Iba, to ensure smooth flow of human and vehicular traffic encountered every time in the community.

Speaking on behalf of the residents, the traditional ruler, Alhaji Kamoru Sumonu, said the road needs urgent attention.

According to him, the community also lacks drainage, mini health centre, recreation centre, standard market and transformer for electric supply, among others.

Sumonu added that the only way to deflood and put smiles on the faces of his people, especially during this rainy season, was by constructing the drainage channels and Odan Isashi road, as residents often experience difficulty getting to their destinations at the appropriate time.

He noted that Governor Fashola has recorded monumental success in virtually all aspects of human endeavour, adding that since he assumed office, he has accelerated the tempo of development in Lagos in terms of social amenities.

He said the governor should be praised and emulated, while appealing to the council chairman, Mr. Toyin Suarau, to help rebuild the collapsed town hall, urging him not to relent in his efforts in ensuring better service to the people of the area.
