The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has given intending pilgrims to this year’s hajj in Saudi Arabia till Friday to pay the remaining N60,000 fare balance before they could be allowed to embark on the trip. The pilgrims had earlier paid N400,000 and are required to pay the N60,000 balance in line with the directive of the National Hajj Commission (NHC).

The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Adewale, said the directive was in line with the guidelines of the NHC, calling on intending pilgrims who had paid the earlier deposit to pay up the additional funds to bring it to N460,000, adding that no late payment would be entertained.

“The mode of payment is by bank draft in favour of the board and this new directive is in line with the guidelines of the National Hajj Commission. No late payment will be entertained,” he said.

He said the board had ensured that far reaching measures had been put in place to ensure that pilgrims experienced hitch-free hajj exercise.
