For demanding arrears of rent owed by his tenant, a landlord, Chief Musiliu Solademi, has been forced to flee his house following the threat by the tenant to arrest him with policemen.

The landlord claimed that the tenant, Moses Okudah, threatened to deal with him and he had to abandon the house and relocate to Ogun State for safety.

Chief Solademi, who owns 55, Edagbeja Street, Ejigbo, Lagos, Nigeria, told P.M.NEWS that Moses threatened to arrest and detain him for asking for 10 months arrears of rent he owed him (landlord).

Narrating his ordeal at the Rent Tribunal, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, the landlord claimed the tenant arrested his caretaker, Olanipekun Akande, in order to get at him.

He said he gave him an extra seven months to pack out “instead he has been threatening to deal with me.”

Responding to the allegations, Moses admitted that his landlord gave him notice to quit the house but that he has no money to rent another house.

”I’m a married man with children. I want him to follow due process in ejecting me. That is why reported the matter to the police,” he stated.
