Rehabilitation of Borno Way road, Ebute Meta, in Lagos Mainland Local Government Area of Lagos State, South West Nigeria, has begun.
The chairman, Mr. Oladele Adekanye, said that although the road belongs to the state government, his administration decided to repair it in the interest of the residents and traders that were being disturbed by flood.
Adekanye stated that in the next few weeks, the road would be completed, while appealing to the residents to cooperate with people working on the road.
The council chairman also explained that similar job is also going on at Oba Adesanya road in Otto.
According to him, work has been completed on the drainage on both sides of the road, while asphalt will soon be put on the surface of the road.
Adekanye also appealed to other communities with problem of bad road to be patient as his administration would attend to their requests as soon as possible.
He stated that despite the meagre resources available, the local government had in less than two years, reconstructed or repaired about eight roads, while so many projects had been implemented and commissioned.
