Three men, Afolabi Shittu, 32, Isaac Abiodun, 25 and Yinka Adekola, 41 have  been charged with a five-count charge of assault at the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court.

They allegedly conspired with others now at large to attack the complainant, Peter Mary at Mangoro area of Agege, Lagos.

Their offence is punishable under Section 351 of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol.II, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

They were also alleged to have resisted arrest, an offence punishable under Section 197 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 17, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

The police accused them of preventing them from discharging their lawful duties by preventing them from gaining entrance into the premises, an offence punishable under Section 145, Cap.17, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.


They were also charged with the damage of the windscreen of a vehicle with registration number XY602 APP, valued at N8,000, property of Ismaila Amusat, an offence punishable under Section 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

They pleaded not guilty to the charge and the presiding magistrate, Mr. T. A. Elias granted them bail in the sum of N25,000 each with one surety in like sum.

The matter has been adjourned till 8 September, 2010.
