As Muslims throughout the world begin the Ramadan fasting, the Oba-elect of Isheri Osun in Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Alhaji (Chief) Samsudeen Amoo Mojeed, has charged Nigerian Muslims to be more dedicated to the principles of Islam and be good ambassadors of the nation wherever they may find themselves.

Amoo stated this in a special Ramadan message at Isheri Osun Central Mosque at the weekend.

He said Muslims all over the country should use the fasting period to forge unity as well as give zakat to the people in need.

“I advise Muslims not to go back to forsaken characters which they realise are not good during the month of Ramadan,” he said, adding that Muslims should endeavour to keep to the good deeds during the period, which he said should be kept holy and devoid of any form of sin.

“Ramadan gives people the opportunity to stay away from sin and this should continue after the exercise so that God can continue to listen to their prayers,” he stated, while appealing to Muslims to also commit their children to the will of Allah, the greatest during and after Ramadan.
