4 Killed In Auto Crash

Four people were this morning killed at Car Wash Bus Stop, Iyana Oworo area of Lagos State, Nigeria in a ghastly motor accident involving a mini bus (danfo) a commuter bus (molue) and a truck.

P.M.NEWS gathered that a molue from Lagos Island on top speed ran into a stationery danfo mini bus and then ran into a Lagos State waste management LASTMA truck.

Hundreds of sympathisers were seen at the scene of the accident at about 10 a.m. They were discussing the incident and sympathising with the victims.

An eyewitness told P.M.NEWS that four persons were brought out dead from inside the danfo while others were rushed to a clinic in the area.

It was gathered that the danfo driver coming from Lagos Island stopped at Car Wash bus stop discharge some passengers. Thereafter the danfo driver did not pay enough attention to the approaching molue which was on a top speed.

As at the time of filing this report, the police and officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, were at the scene of the accident trying to control the traffic. The molue was towed away by a LASTMA towing van.

LASTMA officials were trying bring under control the traffic building up as a result of the accident.

Contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Supol Frank Mba said he was aware of the early morning accident at Iyana Oworo but he had not been briefed officially.
