Gang Storms Church, Robs Worshippers

Police at Orile Iganmu Police Station, Lagos State, South West Nigeria, have arrested one Chukwu Emeka who resides at 8, Abidoye Street, Amukoko.

The suspect and others now at large, allegedly attacked Christ’s Chosen Church of God, situated at Alafia Street, Orile-Iganmu and robbed members of their valuables.

When information got to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the station, he was said to have immediately sent his anti-robbery detectives to the scene and when the robbers sighted the policemen, they took to their heels, but Chukwu Emeka was not so lucky as he was arrested, while his other accomplices escaped.

During the police counter attack, one locally made pistol was reportedly recovered from Chukwu Emeka, who the police claim, has made useful statement to them on the whereabout of his other gang members.

In a related development, the police at Ijesatedo Police Station also in Lagos, have arrested one Lanre Ogidan for driving dangerously and killing one unidentified pedestrian at Odo-Olowu bus stop, along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

Lanre Ogidan, Crime Watch learnt, drove one mini bus marked LAGOS GR 407 EKY recklessly and caused the death of the pedestrian.

The corpse was removed by traffic police officers to public mortuary for autopsy, while investigation is on going.
