Some members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, in Lagos State, have complained about the continued tenure of the Caretaker Committee of the association under the leadership of Comrade Musa Mohammed.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, Alhaji Kola Arogundade, a member of the union, said the Caretaker Committee was brought in when there was some misunderstanding among members of the union in Lagos State and that now that everything is in order and back to normal, elections should be duly conducted to allow for someone from the South West to steer the affairs of the union in the state.

According to Arogundade: “There are better people who can be in control in Lagos State. They have been duly tested and loyal to the cause of the union. So we are calling on the National President, Elder Olu Femi Ajewole to consider our demands to avoid more misunderstanding and violence that had occurred in the past,” he added.

The group also appealed to the Lagos State chairman of the transport union, Comrade Adewale Lasisi and Rev. Edema to wade into the matter and ensure that a proper election is conducted and someone from Lagos State is elected chairman.
