The Head of Service of Lagos State, Mr. Adesegun Ogunlewe, has said that the best way to serve God and humanity is by working in the public service.

He made this remarks while receiving in his office the Director-General of the Public Service Staff Development Centre, Mrs. Bunmi Fabanwo and the new employees who had just completed an induction course at the centre.

He made a reference to the popular saying amongst the Yoruba that government comes immediately after God.

He emphasised that the effectiveness and efficiency of those working in government would directly or indirectly impact on the citizens and that the new inductees should be ready to render selfless services because public service is all about rendering service to the people without expecting financial rewards.

He also congratulated the new employees for making a decision to join the public service.

“I must also say that the inductees were part and parcel of the transformation because the induction had not been done the way it should be in the past few years and since transformation could be achieved through training and acquisition of skill, you were part of it.

About 32 new employees went for the training in the state public service development centre for one week.
