Pipeline Vandals Face Criminal Charges

Criminal charges of vandalising oil pipeline have been filed against seven accused persons alleged to have willfully damaged NNPC pipeline.

The seven accused persons, Okonkwo Chuks 48, Grace Chukwu Emeka, Ifeanyi Izunwune, Isiaka Lamba, Mohammed Kabiri, 21, Dauda kabiri 21, Daraman Yabiri 20 and others at large on19 July, this year, at Isheri Olofin, Idimu, Lagos State in South West, Nigeria, were alleged to have tampered with NNPC pipeline.

They allegedly broke and damaged the pipeline, thereby causing refined petroleum product to spill in the area.

The accused persons at the same time and place were alleged to have conspired with others at large to steal several quantities of  the refined petroleum products, the property of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation and therefore committed an offence punishable under section 390 (9) of the criminal code cap C 17 volume two laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
