Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly in SouthWest Nigeria have vowed not to resume their legislative duties until a “spiritual fumigation” of the assembly complex is done.

Hoodlums and some members of the National Union of Road Transport NURTW yesterday allegedly attacked the Ogun State lawmakers at the Assembly complex in Abeokuta.

It was also alleged that the attackers carried eggs and  some fetish objects to the Assembly Complex, forcing the lawmakers to flee the avenue.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS this morning, Hon. Tokunbo Oshin, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, disclosed that the lawmakers later met yesterday night and took some important decisions.

Oshin said the lawmakers have decided not to return to the Assembly complex until the place has been cleansed spiritually and they are paid their outstanding allowances.

He added that the members of Ogun State House of Assembly will reconvene when the security of lives and properties of the members of the House are guaranteed by the police.

The lawmaker, who appealed to well meaning indigenes of the state to pray for them, also called on the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to intervene.

Oshin said: “The bone of contention is the N100 billion bond which the lawmakers have refused to sign into law.”

No amount of harassment or intimidation can force us into submission.

“We don’t know the position of the state’s account which we have demanded for before we can sign the N100 billion bond. Nobody can intimidate us to put Ogun State in perpetual bondage.”

Meanwhile, P.M.NEWS gathered this morning that immediately after their secret sitting last night, the lawmakers have fled the state to take refuge in undisclosed locations.
