Chief Coach of Lagos United at the ongoing Lagos International Youth Cup, Joe Erico, has attributed his team’s 1-2 loss to Liberty Academy to poor preparation.

The Lagos team were a shadow of themselves in their first match played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria yesterday. The former Green Eagles first choice goalkeeper said time was too short to prepare the team for the tournament, adding that he accepted to take up the job of coaching the youngsters because he wants them to learn from his experience.

Erico, who is fondly called the Jogobonito Exponet by his admirers in his playing days, said he  had just three weeks to screen and prepare the players for the tournament. Though they were defeated, Erico said he was impressed with the way the young lads played against their West African opponents.
