Chairman, Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has declared his intention to represent Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Faleke disclosed his ambition at a consultative forum organised in his honour by a political group, Friends of Faleke (FOF).

The meeting which held at the AY Hotel Conference Hall, Ogba, Lagos State, Nigeria, was attended by Action Congress (AC) leaders in Ikeja, including Comrade Dania, Alhaji Taoreed Ashiru, Alhaji Balogun Rocksteady, Alhaja Iyabo Akerele, among other party faithful.

Speaking at the forum, Faleke said although the rumour has been on for sometime now, ”it is time to confirm this.”

He said he entered the race out of patriotic desire to offer quality representation to his people whom he claimed have not been adequately and effectively represented by previous representatives at the National Assembly.

“Representation in our constituency is currently a disaster. The interest of our people is not adequately represented in the House of Representatives. Our problems as a constituency are not well articulated on the floor of the lower chamber.

“Majority of our people do not even know who is representating them in Abuja and at the Lagos State House of Assembly except now that we have Mrs. Lola Akande. Her predecessor spent good eight years in the Lagos House of Assembly and the people did not feel his impact.

“If I get to the National Assembly, I will not only work for party members, I will also work for the community because it is everybody’s vote that will take me there. Everybody must enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he said.
