Nigeria’s last hope of advancing to the money spinning group stage of this year’s CAF’s Confederation Cup, hit the rocks this evening when Enyimba International crashed out of the tourney.

Enyimba defeated visiting Zanaco Football Club of Zambia 2-0 in the second leg, knockout match played at the Aba township stadium today, but lost out on 4-2 aggregate, having lost the first leg 0-4 in Zambia two weeks ago.

Ekene Iwuorie hit target in the 15th minute when his header beat Zanaco goalkeeper, Racha Kola to end the first half 1-0 in favour of the Aba Elephant.

Enyimba, who needed at least five goals to scale through to the next stage of the continental tournament, managed to score their second goal through Henry Uche barely five minutes into the second half.

Uche perfectly netted the goal from the penalty spot after Auta Philip was brought down in the box. Skipper Josiah Maduabuchi and his teammates tried in vain to cancel the remaining two goals deficit, but the Zambians frustrated
Enyimba by playing more in their own half.
