It was all about fanfare, excitement and glamour as the third season of MTN Project Fame West Africa kicked off on Sunday, 18  July, 2010.

Present at the opening gala night were celebrities such as DJ Jimmy Jatt, Zeez, Skuki, Howie T, Side One, as well as Mike Anyasodo, Iyanya, Tosyn Bucknor of Top FM, Toolz of Beat FM, Gbenga Adeyinka1, Tee-A and others.

Before the main event started, guests were kept reeling with laughter from the jokes of fast rising comedian, Seyi Law, whose jokes and anecdotes helped to usher in an exciting evening of spectacular performances.

Seasonal hosts Adora and Joseph, officially kicked off the third season and with their calm composure and charming smiles, they introduced to the audience this year’s judges and faculty members.

Entertainer Nomoreloss is the latest addition to this season’s edition of Project Fame, while popular choreographer Kaffy will be teaching the  contestants how to dance.

The sense of excitement that reigned in the air on the opening night became further heightened when the 18 contestants came on stage to perform. Starting from the very first performer down to the last, each performance moved the crowd, the judges and members of the faculty.

The performances were exciting and filled with so much potential that the judges found it hard to eliminate three contestants who they felt did not have the same potential with the remaining 15.

At the end of event, when a decision had to be made, the judges, for the first time in the show’s history, allowed all the 18 contestants to enter the Performance Academy and to the delight of the crowd.

Commenting on how this year’s show is going to be, the judges unanimously agreed that Project Fame Season 3 will be the toughest and most exciting.

For the contestants, the holiday is over as they have to prove they have what it takes to be this year’s winner.

The elimination show begins tomorrow as five contestants with the lowest votes will be up for eviction.
