The Lagos Under-17 team for the forthcoming maiden edition of Lagos International Youth Cup 2010 on Monday resumed close camping ahead of the tournament billed for 1- 8 August, 2010.

Team Lagos that will be handled by former Super Eagles’ assistant coach, Joe Erico, and assisted by Lukeman Osun, began full preparation for the tournament that will involve the U-17b team of Super Sports United of South Africa, Liberty Football Club of Ghana and Utretch of Holland Youth team.

Meanwhile, the state government’s policy on Public-Private Partnership has received another boost with the partnering of Best Western Island Hotel for the forthcoming youth tourney.   The government through the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele, commended the management of the hotel. He called on other organisations and companies to emulate the hotel. This, he said, will give the government the opportunity to take care of developmental programmes.

The hotel, which has been officially designated as the official hotel for the tournament, will make available all its facilities for use during the championship.
