Man Shot Dead At Army Barracks

Three unknown persons who tried to scale the fence of 2nd Amphibious Brigade Army Headquarters, Bori Camp, Port Harcourt, at about 3 am last night are feared dead.

Reports have it that one of them died on the spot while two others escaped with serious bullet wounds.

gathered that because of what happened at Army barracks in Calabar recently where unknown person sneaked into the barracks and killed a soldier and escaped, all the army formations, especially the barracks have been on red alert to forestall such breach of security.

When P.M.NEWS contacted the 2 Amphibious Brigade Public Relations Officer, Major Illiasu Aminu, he confirmed the incident.

He explained that “besides being Army Barracks, there no is right thinking man who notices three unknown persons scaling his fence at 3 am and despite being accosted the persons insisted on trespassing and would not take an action to defend himself.”

On whether they found out the identity of the persons, he said investigations are on, but commended the vigilance of the soldiers on guard duty.

“It was thoughtful of the soldiers that they did not start pursuing them across the fence because anything could have happened to the soldiers who may not know the number of their accomplices on the other side and how armed they were.”

He also said that they could have been criminals chased from somewhere at odd hours after an operation and were looking for a hideout.
