D’Tigers Camp Opens

Most Valuable Player, (MVP) of the recently held All Stars Match, Bukar Mohammed of Dodan Warriors Basketball Club, will lead other top players in the NBBF/DSTV Premier League and two foreign-based players to Kaduna this weekend to start preparation for the 26th FIBA-Africa Championship Zone-111 qualifiers.

General Secretary of Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Francis Gbiri said that 18 short-listed players will begin preparations for the qualifiers slated for Lome, Togo from 6-8 August. The players were selected from those that featured in the All-Stars Game the federation organised earlier this month.

The selected players will be handled at the camp by the duo of Coach Sani Ahmed of Kano Pillars Basketball Club and Adeka Daudu of Dodan Warriors Basketball Club. The camp dunks off on 18 July in Kaduna.

Kano Pillars Basketball Club has the largest number of invitees with the Nigeria league champion producing four players which includes Abubakar Usman, Sani Ibrahim, Kelvin Nambam and Matthew Omonye. Three Kada Stars Basketball Club were also invited.
