The Oyo State Police Command has arrested and paraded four suspects who allegedly attempted to abduct the daughter of the late Chief Lamidi Adedibu, Alhaja Fatimoh Babalola.

Those arrested and paraded yesterday are Lucky Friday, Eghose Ugemudia, Onhoma Richard and Obunweyi Ehinemere.

According to the police, the four suspected kidnappers were arrested in an uncompleted building at Oluyole Estate in Ibadan and had confessed they came from Edo State to kidnap expatriates working for a manufacturing firm in the Oyo State capital. And when they could not, they had to settle for other victims.

Police stated that items recovered from the suspects are three locally made guns with six rounds of live cartridges.

Speaking with journalists on the arrest, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Adisa-Baba Bolanta expressed dismay that the kidnap saga ravaging the South-East has spread to the South-West.

Bolanta, therefore, advised parents to keep an eye on their children.

The Police Command also paraded suspected car snatchers who were alleged to have been terrorising the state.

The suspects are Inspector Olusegun Orilogun, an immigration officer; Abayomi Bamidele, an ex-soldier and Johnson Benjamin, who was impersonating a soldier.

Orilagun was arrested when his panel beater, Mutiu Bashiru reported to the police that he suspected that a Nissan Sunny car he was working on might have been stolen.

The car belongs to Orilogun who was the suspected leader of a car robbery syndicate.

He was also said to be the one that disposed cars allegedly stolen by his gang.

Police said a locally made single barrel gun was recovered from the immigration officer.
