The Pulse, the winner of 2009 Star Quest, the music talent hunt show, sponsored by Star Lager, has released its debut album titled State of Emergency.

It was released last Sunday at a lavish launch party held at the popular La Cachette Restaurant, Oduduwa Way, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, which attracted a large turn out of top players in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The band, in a message read by the leader, Dubem Ochokwu, thanked the Nigerian Breweries Plc, for giving them a platform to exhibit their talent and as well live their dreams.

He noted that despite coming from different backgrounds into the Star Fame land, within a short time, they have bonded like a family.

Done with the short speech, the night came alive, interspersing with live music and comedy performances led by The Pulse, Eedris Abdulkareem, Femi Adeyinka, KSB, Gbenga Adeyinka and MC Abbey.

Since they first grabbed attention through their hit track and winning song during the talent hunt show, Sote, The Pulse have proved themselves as not just a bunch of talented youngsters but equally a band who knows their onions.

Since the competition started in 2002, no particular band has been so popularly accepted like the band made up of Dubem Ochokwu, Babatunde Omomeji, Obianuju Udeh, Moses Philips, Charles Nkamiang and Asuquo Okon.

They made history late last year, when they achieved a feat considered unprecedented in the Nigerian music industry with a collabo with international hip hop music icon, Busta Rhymes, on Sote Remix.

The remix, which became an instant hit, was also performed by the band with the United States-born rap music star on the stage of the 2009 Star Mega Jam at Lagos and Abuja gigs.

The deal was facilitated by Sheila Ashinze, MD/CEO of Zons PR, the booking agency of the annual Star Mega Jam.
