Union Bank Set For Morocco Tourney

Union Bank Table Tennis Club will represent Nigeria in the forthcoming Morocco Open Table Tennis Championship.

The championship will hold from 21- 27 July in Casablanca, Morocco.

Coach of the club, Samson Ajayi, said they have invited 10 players to camp ahead of the trip to the North African country.

Among the male players invited to camp are Haruna Quadri, Gbenga Anthony, Sharafa Adeleke, Gbenga Ajulo, Ashimiyu Ganiyu and Odulade Sunday

In the female category, invited players include Atinuke Olaide, Olatunde Ganiyat, Ogundele Rashidat and Durosimi Etti.

Ajayi said the players will hit camp a week before the tournament and that the letters of invitation have been sent to the players.

“All the invited players have received letters of invitation, so I believe that these are the players that will represent the country in the international tourney,” he said.

Commenting on the championship, he said the Morocco tourney will prepare the players for  future challenges and urged the players not to let the country down when the championship begins in Casablanca.

“We are going to Morocco to make appreciable impact, so I pray that God would help the players excel in the tournament,” he said.
