Lagos Tertiary Games 2010: UNILAG Win Beach Soccer Gold

The Beach Soccer team of University of Lagos, UNILAG, have won the gold medal of the game in the ongoing Lagos Inter- Tertiary Games 2010.

The UNILAG boys were too much for their opponents from Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education in the final decided on Sunday at the sandy pitch of the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Bar Beach, Lagos Nigeria.

The UNILAG team won the final 4-3 and smiled home with the sum of N350,000, while the runners-up got the sum of N200,000. The third placed winners, Yaba College of Technology, who beat Lagos State Polytechnic team 2-0 were given N145,000.

Meanwhile, in the semi final games of the football event, Lagos State University, LASU will face Lagos State Polytechnic, while Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education will battle Federal College of Education (Federal). The matches will be played tomorrow at the Legacy Pitch at the national Stadium, Lagos.

In the volleyball (female), UNILAG beat St. Augustine College of Education to set up a final clash with winners between Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education and Lagos State University in a match scheduled for today, while in the male event, UUNILAG, Yaba College of Technology, Federal College of Education (Technical) and Army School of Finance and Administration have qualified for the semi finals.
