NFF Meets On Eagles' W/Cup Flop Tuesday

The disgraceful outing of Nigeria’s Super Eagles at South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup will top the agenda when the Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF meets at its Glass House Secretariat at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja next Tuesday.

The Media Officer of NFF, Demola Olajire told P.M.Sports that the body will do a general review of Nigeria’s participation at the World Cup finals in South Africa.

Olajire said the football body will also put into consideration the technical and administrative reports of the tournament as complied by the NFF Secretariat and the various sub –committees put in place by the Federation.

“NFF President Sani Lulu Abdullahi will chair the meeting that is expected to start at 1pm, ” the NFF image maker said.

Nigeria failed to reach the knock–out stage of the World Cup to be hosted in Africa despite high expectation of Nogerians. In a dramatic twist to Nigeria’s ouster, world champions Italy and vice champions France did not fare any better in South Africa as both teams also crashed out from the first round of the tournament.

Meanwhile, out of the six African flag–bearers, Ghana is the only nation that made it to the Round of 16. Host South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria and Cameroon have returned home while Cote d’Ivoire, that defeated Korea Republic 3-0 this evening also crashed out. The Didier Drogba-led squad were eliminated as their last match was just a formality, though they are leaving South Africa with their heads up.
