NBBF / Zenith Bank Women’s League: Deepwater Ladies Stop Sunshine

First Deepwater Basketball Club of Lagos yesterday at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria Indoor Sports Hall confirmed their supremacy over Sunshine Angels Basketball Club of Akure, beating them 63-62 points to remain in contention for the NBBF/Zenith Bank Women Premier League title

With the victory, the oil and gas ladies have won two out of the three meetings with the Mimiko girls this season thus confirming their superiority over the Sunshine girls who have earlier lost to the defending champions, First Bank Basketball Club of Lagos.

Speaking after the match, head coach of First Deepwater Basketball Club, Lateef Erinfolami, gave God the glory for the victory, while also praising his players for a job well done.

The former international stated that the match was not easy as the result of the gamehas revealed, adding that Sunshine girls gave them a run for their money. He revealed that having survived the Sunshine scare they are now focusing on the other games and they will continue to take the matches one after the other because their target is the title.

In other matches played yesterday, Plateau Rocks Basketball Club of Jos beat Nigeria Immigration Basketball Club of Kano by 49-47 points, Dolphins Basketball Club of Lagos stopped AHIP Angels Basketball of Kano by 64-44 points.

The defending champions, First Bank Basketball of Lagos walloped FCT Angels of Abuja 108-42 points, while Nigeria Customs Basketball Club lost to Delta Force of Asaba by 83-41points.
