At the recently held NYSC Peer Education Trainers’ (PETs) Anti-AIDS Club magazine launch and Awards Day, Nigeria’s foremost frozen dairy company, Fan Milk Plc, was again recognised with an award of honour.

It was presented to the dairy company in recognition of its support, contribution and partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Anti-AIDS Club, an ongoing programme meant for enlightening, educating and creating awareness about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) among the youths as well as help to fight stigmatisation among people living with HIV/AIDS.

According to Mrs. Oyekemi Wilson, the Corporate Affairs Manager of the dairy firm, the importance of Fan Milk joining the Federal Government’s effort in fighting the  scourge and working together to ensure an HIV/AIDS-free Nigeria was borne out of the company’s quest to give necessary support to deserving initiatives from all quarters.

In a related development, Fan Milk again lived up to its positive stance on corporate social responsibility by supporting this year’s Children’s Development Centres’ (CDC) Cycling competition held recently in Lagos.

Tagged Ride for Life, the event floated by the CDC, an NGO under the leadership of Dr. Yinka Akindayomi, is aimed at saving human existence with determination to raise up to half a billion naira in order to rescue the ongoing Lagos Living and Learning Centre capital project, the cause for which the CDC is known.

The event involved bicycle riding from Chevron Roundabout to the CDC site at Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos State, a distance of about 40 kilometers.

Various support has been given to CDC by Fan Milk Plc over the years and the current year’s edition was not an exception and would continue to do so in the near future.

Support given include cash gifts for procuring T-shirts and face caps for the riders, while Fan Milk products were also provided free at the eight-branded rest-stops coupled with catering for 1,000 people at the final destination of the riders at Ibeju-Lekki.
