Nestle Secondary School Tourney: Lagos Takes On Ondo

International School, ISL of the University of Lagos, who are representing Lagos State at the ongoing Western Conference of the Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, will today take on their Ondo State counterparts in a make or mar encounter.

The match, which will be played at the Liberty Stadium, will see the Ernest Ijeoma coached Lagos lads desperately looking for victory having won two and lost one of their matches played so far in the conference.

They beat the defending champions, Edo State by 22-13 points, lost to Delta State by 33-31 points, walked over Kogi State, who were disqualified after most of their boys were screened out leaving them with only two players that could not make a team in a basketball game.

However, Oyo and Ogun States have already qualified for the conference semi-finals coming up tomorrow, while the outcome of today’s game between Lagos and Ondo State will determine which team go through with Delta State who have also qualified for the semi-finals.

The two finalists will represent the conference at the national finals coming up later in the year.

Meanwhile, matches are also ongoing at the Central Conference in Ilorin, Kwara State with the host state, Kwara battling Nasarawa, Bauchi, Plateau, Benue, Niger, Gombe, Kaduna and Abuja.

Kano, Adamawa, Ebonyi and Enugu States have already qualified for the grand finale of the oldest secondary schools basketball championship, which will come up in Lagos, after picking tickets from Savannah and Atlantic conferences.
