Traders and artisans arrived Igando Market early this morning and wept when they saw that their shops, stalls and goods had been burnt to ashes. The raging inferno was said to have destroyed goods and properties yet to be estimated in about 60 of the shops.

According to an eyewitness, Seyi, the fire in Igando Market, in the Igando/Ikotun Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Nigeria, was said to have been triggered by an electrical fault in a shop. The fire later spread before men of the State Fire and Safety Services arrived the scene.
