Lagos Inaugurates MOC For Senatorial Games

Lagos State government has inaugurated the Main Organising Committee (MOC) for the Senatorial Games that will commence soon in the state.

Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele, while inaugurating the committee said that the MOC should come up with a detailed action plan that would enable members of the State Executive Council (EXCO) to adopt and promote the the tournament in their various senatorial districts.

Prince Adeniji-Adele also opined that the Senatorial Games is essentially a grassroots’ sports for catching and developing young talents that abound in the state.

The chairman of the inaugurated MOC, Deji Wellington, who is also a board member of Lagos State Sports Council, on behalf of himself and other members, thanked the state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola and the Commissioner for giving them the opportunity to serve.

Wellington said the MOC will strive to meet the government’s expectations and also surpass these expectations. He also promised that the MOC will not abuse the confidence reposed in the committee.

Other members of the MOC include Mr. S. Alasela; Mrs. Babs, the Director of Sports, Lagos State Sports Council, Mr. Bolaji Yusuf, Mr. Ogidan, Mr. Bamidele Disu and Surveyor Olayemi.
