A member of the House of Representatives, representing Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 2, Lagos State, Nigeria, Hon. Joseph Jaiyeola Ajatta has turned out yet another 480 graduads from his computer empowerment programme school, Centre Point Computer College, Ajao Estate, Isolo.

Speaking on the 11th graduation and 12th matriculation ceremony of the tuition-free institution on Saturday, 29 May, 2010,  the Federal lawmaker said it was a thing of beauty that the ceremony coincided with the DemocracyDay.

According to Hon. Ajatta “this day is meant to be a day of stock-taking, when people who are placed in positions of authority are supposed to give account of their stewardship and show how well they have served the people who reposed their confidence in them to lead.

“It is unfortunate that most politicians both at the centre, state and local government levels have not come to appreciate the weight of responsibilities as custodians of people’s mandate. There is no gain saying the fact that only good governance can enhance the peoples’ wellbeing, eradicate poverty and enthrone sustainable economic development,” Hon. Ajatta lamented.

The Reps member who promised to continue his youth empowerment programmes said those in the National Assembly have not failed in their responsibility of complementing the efforts of  the government of the states and the local governments.

A total of 11,680 students have so far graduated in either Desktop Publishing or System Engineering since the inception of the college, while about 792 students matriculated to commence fresh courses at the Ajao Estate and Ejigbo campuses.
