Suspended NURTW Boss Battered

The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Shomolu Unit, Palmgrove, Lagos, Nigeria, Muyiwa Ayodele, has appealed to the police to come to his aid following an attack on him by some members of his union.

Ayodele was recently battered by members and left bleeding while attempting to rescue a soldier.

The 35-year old, who was earlier suspended by the union revealed that some members of the union had tried to impeach him as chairman of the branch of the union.

He explained that shortly after he resumed office, he was arrested and detained at the Pedro Police Station for a murder case which he knew nothing about.

He disclosed that while returning from the police station, he met some members of the union beating an army officer and he intervened to save the soldier’s life.

This did not go down well with members of the union who pounced on him and beat him mercilessly.

The attackers, P.M.NEWS gathered have been arrested and detained by the police at Pedro station.
