Mr. Hakeem Gbabi, a bulldozer  driver with Alhaji Agboola & Company, hired by Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, Nigeria, has escaped being electrocuted by PHCN’s cable while working on the road under the Opebi-Oregun link bridge.

Hakeem, a staff of the council said, was grading the bad road yesterday when the bulldozer  ran over the PHCN cable. The cable was not properly buried at the company’s injection substation.

The council chairman, Mr. Idowu Obasa, has written a protest letter to the PHCN, Alausa office, titled Life Threatening Shoddiness Of PHCN Installation At Opebi. The council boss stated that the cable ought to have been properly buried to avoid such incidents. PHCN Business Manager, Comrade Sam Nwaire, said they are aware of the incident and they are going to work on it.
