Yinka Ogundimu, a former Supervisory Councillor in Alimoso Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria, has described poverty as the greatest enemy of humanity which must be eradicated in our society.

Ogundimu made the statement at a poverty alleviation and economic empowerment programme, held recently at Orile-Agege, Lagos, Nigeria, when he gave out items including sewing  and popcorn making machine, hair driers, materials for call centre and N10, 000 each to 20 people as well as scholarship to some indigent students in the area.

Ogundimu stated the he took a cue from social and infrastructure transformation and ideology of the Fashola-led administration in the state, while calling on well to do members of the public to always assist the needy.

This, he said, would go a long way in tackling poverty, while advising beneficiaries of the gesture to make good use of the items to better their lives and those of others that are also in need.
