AC Supporters Trek For DemocracyTrek —Jide Osokoya

The Action Congress (AC), Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria, Onigbongbo and Ojodu chapters will tomorrow embark on a thousand-man Trek For Democracy through the three local governments in Ikeja constituency.

According to the chairman of the committee for the democracy trek, Mr. Tayo Orekoya, the event, which is expected to last between 10a.m. and 6p.m., is to drum support for Electoral Reform; One Man, One Vote; No To Rigging and Our Vote Must Count.

The organisers, who stated that democracy must survive, said the event  is set to let the world know that on the Committee For Defence of Electoral Rights (CODER) they stand .

“Democracy is invincible. It is invisible, but it is perceivable, guarantees equal rights for all. So, it must not be trampled on,” the committee for the trek stated, announcing that the take-off point would be the AC Ojodu office, opposite Zenith Bank, Ogba, Lagos at 10a.m.

Mr. Orekoya, who disclosed that the finish point of the trek is Oluwaleyimu Sports Centre, off Unity Road, Ikeja, Lagos, said motivational speeches would be delivered at different points by the chairman of Lagos AC, Otunba Oladele Ajomale, his  deputy in Lagos West, Cardinal James Odunmbaku and the party’s scribe, Primate Charles Odugbesi.

Some of the routes for the Trek For Democracy are Isheri road, Lateef Jakande road, Agidingbi, Kudirat Abiola Way, Opebi link road, Toyin Street, Mobolaji Bank-Anthony Way, Ikeja Roundabout, Kodeso Street and Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja among others.
