Late Dipo Dina’s Will Out

The last will and testament of the slain gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress, AC, Otunba Dipo Dina, prepared by a Lagos lawyer, Babajide Aladejobi of 53, Western Avenue, Lagos, was read at the Lagos Probate Registry this afternoon.

The will was prepared on 2 October, 2007.

It comprises properties both in Nigeria and overseas including those in Satellite Town, Lagos, Lekki Penninsula, Dolphin Estate, and a host of others.

The trustees of the will include Modupe Adenike Dina, his wife, Yinka Adeyemi, a lawyer and one of his friends whose name could not be ascertained.

The highlight of the will, showed that the late Dina stated that six months after his death, his family should move from where they were living before his death to Terrace Court, Osborne Road, Ikoyi.

He gave various sums of money ranging from N25,000 to N200,000 to 29 people.

Dina said some of his undeveloped properties should be developed by joint mortgage financing.

Rent from his property and dividends from shares should be paid into his estate account.

He said his children should be trained either in Nigeria or abroad to the best of their ability, but not less than Masters degree.

Dina said his wife should have the benefit stated in the will provided she did not remarry.

On no account should his resources be used to train any child not born by him, he added.

He also said in his will that an endowment fund should be established in four higher institutions but if this is not possible, the executors should establish them in Unilag, Yabatech, Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye and Abiola Polytechnic.

Any of his children who qualifies as a Chartered Accountant, such child should manage his accounting firm, he said.

He also stated in the will that while he was alive, he substantially assisted his immediate and extended family members.
