President Jonathan Arrives Port Hacourt To Commission Projects

President Goodluck Jonathan, at exactly10:12 this morning, arrived the Port Harcourt International Airport aboard Nigerian Presidential Airforce Jet amidst a rousing welcome.

Immediately after the official formalities, the President headed straight to the Port Harcourt/Owerri dual carriage way, a  Federal road, constructed by the Rivers State Government to the tune of over N20 billion.

Apart from the State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, other governors who were on ground to receive him included Governors Adams Oshiomhole, Timipre Silva, Theodore Orji, and Godswill Akpabio, of Edo, Bayelsa, Abia, and Akwa Ibom states,  respectively.

The Governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke, was said to have arrived the airport with the President.

As at the time of filing this report, President Jonathan was laying the foundation stone of the Greater Port Hacourt, an initiative of the state governor to build another city apart from the state capital.

The new city is also expected to cover about four local government areas.
