Nigerians should appreciate the efforts of journalists in the country rather than see them as constituting nuisance.

This was the remark this morning by the Founder and General Overseer of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, at a special prayer session for journalists at the Ladi Lawal Press Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.

He said it was unfortunate that the efforts of Nigerian journalists to correct the ills of the society are seen in bad light by the high and mighty who do not want their nefarious activities exposed.

Says Primate Ayodele: “I personally appreciate you people (journalists) because in most cases you go the extra mile to balance your stories. Moreso, it often amazes me to see that most of the stories denied by certain people are eventually confirmed to be true.

“I implore you to go ahead with your job without fear or intimidation; the Lord will keep you and guard you. I pray that no more death will visit you again in Jesus name. I also pray for the souls of the departed,” the INRI founder said.

State NUJ Chapter Chairman, Wahab Oba, other executive members of the union and journalists attended the event.
