EPL Content Sharing: Fans Wants Nigeria To Emulate Kenya http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/10/17/epl-content-sharing-fans-wants-nigeria-to-emulate-kenya/ http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/10/17/epl-content-sharing-fans-wants-nigeria-to-emulate-kenya/#comments Fri, 17 Oct 2014 19:22:37 +0000 http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/?p=216507 Diego Costa

Football fans in the country have urged authorities in Nigeria to take a cue from Kenya where there is sharing of the exclusive rights to air English Premier League (EPL) with local high-end games.

More than ever before, the need to break the EPL right owner’s monopoly in Nigeria for a free-to-air arrangement has arisen. The Kenyans would readily explain how beneficial the steps they took in this direction have been and “this can also happen in Nigeria if the government through Nigeria Broadcasting Commission, NBC, could yield to the yearning of the people, at least by allowing it to be on free-to-air channels,” said Mr. Biodun Owoeye, a sports consultant in Lagos.

To the Manager of Glory Babes Football Club of Ibadan, Oyo State, Mr. Femi Akinoye, “it will be cheering news if there is healthy competition in the broadcast of EPL matches by both DStv and the local broadcasters; the market is lucrative because we have a large numbers of followers of English football in Nigeria. I’m sure everybody will have its share of the expected profit and more importantly breaking some unwarranted monopolistic tendencies which will be a great service to the Nigerian economy.”

Mr. Lekan Sorungbe also shared the sentiment of Glory Babes’ manager, he said: “If the rumour making the rounds that La Liga and other leagues will soon be on free-to-air channels in Nigeria, it would be healthy for EPL to follow suit”.

It is on record that EPL teeming fans in Nigeria were able to watch some of the previous EPL matches courtesy of the free-to-air deal. This is a pointer to the fact that, if EPL is not careful if would lose its viewers to other leagues.

The variety that make GOtv contents tick http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/10/01/the-variety-that-make-gotv-contents-tick/ http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/10/01/the-variety-that-make-gotv-contents-tick/#comments Wed, 01 Oct 2014 16:54:26 +0000 http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/?p=214218 GOtv

The longing of most Nigerians, particularly low–income earners, for premium television programmes, with clear visual and audio was fulfilled with the introduction of low-cost digital terrestrial pay television (DTT) service providers over three years ago.

In October 2011, GOtv was launched using the more modern digital video broadcast technology II, known as, DBV-T2, prescribed by the regulator for the digital migration. A year after, the exotic channels offered on GOtv platform and enhanced by high picture quality and clear audio made the brand very popular with Nigerians. This translated into a rush for GOtv boxes across the country.

In a bid to make its services accessible by different categories of people in the mass market, two bouquet types – GOtv with 28 channels, and GOtv Plus 41 channels – were introduced. The bouquet types meant that more channels than the initial 27 channels had been created without any price increase.

These choices, while increasing the volume of indigenous programmes subscribers can watch on the two bouquet types, made GOtv a favourite brand for family entertainment on the digital terrestrial pay-TV platform.

The suite of AfricaMagic Channels is an example. Nollywood movie buffs are treated to a variety of programmes that promote culture and tradition with the five AfricaMagic channels, namely Africa Magic Family, Africa Magic (Hausa), Africa Magic(Yoruba), Africa Magic Epic Movies, and Africa Magic World. These channels have so far become the most veritable culture export for Nigeria and Nigerian films.

Apart from movies, sports, a popular content to a wider audience, enjoys huge prominence on the GOtv channels menu. GOtv’s sporting content is distinct for its SuperSport channels. The innovative state-of-the-art Supersport studio which offers pre, interlude, and post-match analysis from seasoned sports personalities is second to none and part of GOtv’s winning ways.

Studio guests, including ex-football players, like Victor Ikpeba, Daniel Amokachi, Dosu Joseph, Peter Rufai, Etim Esin, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, Mutiu Adepoju, to mention but a few are a delight to watch on GOtv SuperSport channel.

By this alone, subscribers on the GOtv platform have access to superb off-field excitement, with scintillating dialogue from some of Nigeria’s cherished football idols. As feature guests, viewers are reunited to their favourite football stars, some of who have become shorn of public attention, in a rather affectionate way.

Telemundo, another exclusive 24-hour Telenovela channel on GOtv, has grabbed a large audience among the female folk. Launched in August 2013, this channel has taken Nigeria by storm, including notable celebrities. One of such is popular on-air-personality of Cool FM in Lagos, Freeze, who confessed to have been captivated by this channel.

Freeze couldn’t be quiet about it, as he recounted episodes of Forbidden Passions, one of the Telenovelas aired on GOtv earlier this year.

Subscribers with fervour for secular and gospel music are not unlikely to have them in sufficient doses. GOtv’s six local and international music channels make the brand the only DTT pay-TV to offer the most channels in the programme genre.

Revolutionary music channel, Channel O, has helped indigenous music artistes gain considerable mileage across African countries, just as the Africa Magic channels to actors and film producers. The rise from local stardom to international superstars of a few of Nigerian singers, including red carpet reception by heads of government in few African countries where they have performed, will not go without a mention of how vigorously Channel O publicises their music across the continent.

Something for the kids? GOtv offers four entertaining and educative kiddies channels, namely Nickelodeon, Disney Junior, JimJam and Channel ED. Channel ED comes as a knowledge enhancer for teenagers, dwelling on new developments in science, technology, and general interests.

While GOtv’s foreign news channels, like CNN and Aljazeera, keep viewers informed with up-to-date news and happenings around the world, documentary channels like NatGeo Wild and Discovery World, have spurred a bond of sorts with subscribers. Other channels, like Mnet Movies Zone, PRTV, Sony Entertainment, BET, E! Entertainment, MTV Base, HipTv, TBN, Islam channel among others, show GOtv’s gravitas as a choice family entertainment pay-tv.

In its belief of being a prime aggregator of premium television content, the GOtv brand has confidently invited scrutiny and attestation from subscribers, journalists and industry experts through various fora initiated by it.

One of such was the content showcase held last year to commemorate GOtv’s second anniversary in Nigeria, and through which the brand publicised its rich content to the admiration of the attendees, largely journalists.

Delightedly, GOtv General Manager, Elizabeth Amkpa, at the event, lauded the brand for “bringing subscribers television that is all about quantity and quality.”

Nwachukwu, who is also a co-presenter of ‘Jara,’ a showbiz programme on Multi-Choice’s Dstv, said this on NET, an online entertainment platform and described such stories as “nothing but bad press.”

“In Nigeria, once you are young in the entertainment industry and you are doing well, the next thing they tag you with is that you are either dating an older woman or that you are gay,” he said.

He, however, admitted that he was in a relationship but with a young lady and said, “I am a very passionate person; when I love, I do more than the average person.

“I could be a bit possessive and all that.”

On his experience in Big Brother All Stars, he said that the reality show was a platform that helped to correct the mistakes he made in BBA 3, in which he was a contestant.

“Big Brother Africa 3 was easy but I was lucky to get a second chance. For BBA All Stars, they didn’t just bring back anybody; they brought back the best from Seasons 1- 4.

“These were people who had come out of the show and people had pointed out their mistakes to them.

“I won’t lie by saying I didn’t have my own strategies,” Nwachwukwu said.

P.M.NEWS learnt that MultiChoice will be screening the Carnival, considered the biggest multi-dimensional tourism and entertainment programme in West Africa, to DStv subscribers across the continent via the dedicated channel 199 from Thursday 26 to Tuesday 31 December.

John Ugbe, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, said that DStv is the place to be this festive season for non-stop entertainment.

“We choose this festive season to remind Nigerians of their roots and to serenade them with some indigenous and special centrepiece events that are packaged to leave lasting memories in their hearts. Of course, our support for initiatives of this nature underline our commitment to the promotion of the best that Nigeria and indeed Africa, has to offer,” Ugbe said.

MCN boss added that a magazine-style package of the best moments from previous editions of the Calabar Carnival spiced with live coverage will be on the cards for the benefit of viewers on DStv Family, Compact, Compact Plus and Premium subscribers.

The Annual Calabar Festival, tagged “Africa’s Biggest Street Party”, is a month long celebration when the city plays host to the world, welcoming visitors to sample its culture and seasonal festivities.

I Started Hip Hop World With N1000 http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/11/22/i-started-hip-hop-world-with-n1000/ http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/11/22/i-started-hip-hop-world-with-n1000/#comments Fri, 22 Nov 2013 14:56:27 +0000 http://pmnewsnigeria.com/?p=178158 Ayo Animashaun, CEO of Smooth Promotions, the mother company to The Headies, Hip On TV and Hiphopworld, has added another brand to his stable: HipTV, a new 24 hours cable channel on DStv and GOtv. In a chat with FUNSHO AROGUNDADE, Animashaun spoke about the newest channel

Congrats on the final launch of HipTV.

Thanks so much. It is a dream come true. We have been planning and doing this consistently for over seven years now. This whole project started with N1000 a long time ago. So I can say I am a happy man. HipTV is a channel that will do Nigeria proud, and make us all proud to be Nigerians. It will offers rich content on news, events, documentaries, rotations, red carpet events, features, interviews and many more. HipTV will not just be about our own local content. Wherever things are happening, we will be there because we are going to be showing in over 40 countries in Africa. Even though we know that when the subject is music in Africa, Nigeria dominates. But we will respect other countries that will tune in to see us. You wouldn’t want to hold or buy a good picture and not see yourself, if you have a good picture the first thing you want to see is yourself.

How would you describe the channel?

It is a music and lifestyle channel. It is also an urban contemporary channel.

Including a bit of sport?

You are not going to see soccer matches and all that on HipTV but we are going to be showing content about celebrities and things that fit into the profile of what we are trying to do. But we will also be doing behind the scene of a lot of sporting events. For example, we were at the last Nations Cup not to cover the matches but all the fun and entertainment surrounding the matches. We did more of the behind the scene. And come next year by the grace of God we are going to be at the next World Cup in Brazil and we will be showing a lot of behind the scene at the world cup.

•Ayo Animashaun

•Ayo Animashaun

What then would be your unique selling point?

We have put in a lot of work and I love what we have done when I watch HipTV and I hope people out there are going to say we have done a good job.  We are not going to be playing music videos, there is going to be more to it because a lot of people are already doing that. There is a programme called “Flip Sides”. In this programme, we reveal the other sides of our celebrities. There are so many things you won’t believe our artistes do apart from music: For example, not many people know that Banky W is a fantastic cook. He goes to the market and shops for everything by himself. We didn’t find out this other side of him until we were in Brazil together. M.I is a fantastic basketballer. He played in high school. There are so many other things that some music video channels won’t reveal to you, and that is what HipTV is all about. We are going to give you a lot of behind the scenes of music videos. Even when we play music videos, they are always going to be different because we are not just going to show you the videos, you will have to see something different and refreshing.  I hate talking too much, but I hope that at the end of the day people will like the channel.

Who are your core target?

We are a servant in the industry and there are many other servants serving the industry.  We have chosen our own market and tested our own means. The people in the age bracket of 16 to 35 are our core target.

How much has this project cost you?

Like some people would say that Nigerians don’t like discussing figures and I won’t be an exception. But to tell you, I would say we have invested a lot of money, time and energy into this project. To me figures are not important; sometimes you will even have a lot of money and not know what to do with it. So it is not about figures to me but about the passion, the drive the dream being able to deliver on such a huge platform. We have invested in other areas especially the time, energy and focus that we share as a company, and by extension, our partners. The chances and opportunities we have had over the years, all these mean more to us than the figures. Anybody can just put money on the table to go and deliver and you won’t be able to deliver without your partners.

What are the challenges you faced bringing the channel on air?

I can’t be telling you the obvious challenges everyone faces here in Nigeria which majorly is power issues. We have been running online for over a year now but no matter how well you prepare, something will always crop up. For example, we have two generators and an inverter to support it, but you would be shocked that sometimes both generators and the inverter would not work. It can get that crazy, so one can’t be too prepared. So you just have to put in everything and be strategic in your preparation. That is one of the reasons why our main server is not stationed here in Nigeria.  Our main server is in London, which is where we are operating from. In the U.K you hardly experience power failure. What we do here is to mostly schedule our content and work flow, even when we run live content; it goes straight to our server in London and stream from over our server to different homes. We also know that cost is the major element in making sure we produce good programmes. You will hire people, pay their salaries and all that, we want to be able to drive this project through.

How have you been coping running all these brands under Smooth Promotions?

I have to be sincere with you, it is not easy. But what I have learnt over the years is to trust people. I have a workforce that is so dedicated and so focused. I noticed that when other people share in your dream and passion, and are able to make a living out of it, they wouldn’t let it suffer because if it suffers, we are all going to suffer.  So what I have done is not to make myself the Alpha and Omega of everything that is happening here. I can’t definitely do everything. All I can do is to supervise, train my people to know the dos and don’ts, understand the values and ethics of the company, create a manual for them and believe they are going to do the job. I correct them once in a while when they make mistakes and try and bring the passion and vision to them, so that they can take it serious.

His words: “We’re keeping all the regulars, all the segments like Dead Curious, Hip TV Specials, I thought you knew, Caught Out there, and many others. But we’re also working day and night to finish out new concepts that will titillate.”

Hip TV was founded in 2007, as a broadcast platform for Hip Hop World Magazine, the most respected music magazine on the continent. It is expected to go live later this year, after a launch event with details to be announced soon.

The core target of the channel ranges from 16-40, and its studios will be located in Lagos and London, with roving reporters and analysts around the world.

The suspect is also alleged to be engaged in illegal importation, selling and distribution of pirate devices popularly known as Dungle which enables subscribers to have free access to Multichoice satellite signals across West and Central Africa.

According to Mr Frikkie Jonker, Senior Anti-Piracy Manager, Multichoice, Ajayi’s server is considered strong as it controls its counterpart server in China and distributes satellite signals to a host of West African and Central African countries including Senegal, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya Uganda and Benin Republic .

It was also revealed that the suspect had been extracting control words from multichoice cards in Nigeria and sending same to a server in China which is connected to an ISP server placed somewhere in Europe or America.

Jonker, who expressed his gratitude to the EFCC for the arrest, described the scam as one of the biggest in recent time.

Ajayi will be arraigned in court when investigation is concluded.

Olu Jacobs, middle, with his award

Nigeria’s Akin Omotoso may not have earned recognition from the Jury in the Best Movie Overall category, but he was a big winner on Saturday night as his movie “Man On Ground” claimed four awards, including “Best Movie Director” at the inaugural AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards ceremony held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos.

Omotoso’s flick, which is based on the xenophobic riots that broke out in South Africa in May 2008, also picked up gongs for Best Cinematographer (Paul Michelson), Best Picture Editor (Aryan Kaganof) and Best Sound Editor (Michael Botha and Joel Assaizky).

South African Sara Blecher also shared the honour as the night’s big winner with four awards as her drama film “Otelo Burning” walked away with the coveted Best Movie Overall, a repeat of her feat at the African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, last year. The film she claimed took her eight years to produce also bagged the awards for Best Art Director, Best Make-up Artist and Best Lighting Designer.

Nigeria’s Obi Emelonye trailed with three awards for his 2011 movie “The Mirror Boy”. He walked home with Best Movie (Drama), Best Writer (Drama) and Best Costume Designer (Ngozi Obazi).

South African director Tim Greene’s second film “Skeem’ walked away with two awards-Best Movie Comedy and Best Writer Comedy.

Other winners include Mercy Johnson (Best Actress-Comedy) for her role in Dumebi-The Dirty Girl; Hafiz Oyetoro (Best Actor-Comedy) for “House a Part”.

But the king and queen of the first-ever AMVCAs were OC Ukeje and Jackie Appiah, who won Best Actor and Best Actress respectively for their individual roles in “Two Brides And A Baby” and “Best Picture”.

Accomplished actor Olu Jacobs was recognised as the first ever recipient of AMVCAs “Industy Merit Award”.

In his acceptance speech, Jacobs, accompanied to the event by his wife, actress Joke Silva, said with the award presented to him by his old friend and veteran actress, Taiwo Ajai-Lycet, he was now convinced that he has been doing things right in his career. The 71 year old actor recalled how he left Nigeria without the blessing of his parents for Britain in the 1960s and his struggles through the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London, England.

Also recognised was fast rising young actress, Ivie Okujaye who was named the ‘Trailblazer of the year”.

The glamorous ceremony had Diezani Allison-Madueke, Minister for Petroleum Resources, who represented President Goodluck Jonathan and two other ministers- Edem Duke (Tourism and Culture) and Olusegun Aganga (Trade and Investment).

In his goodwill message at the event, President Jonathan appreciated the organisers of the awards ceremony, MNet Africa and MultiChoice, for putting up such wonderful ceremony to reward and celebrate talents from across the length and breadth of Africa. He assured all of his administration’s continual support for the creative industry to attain its full potential of providing entertainment and employment for millions of people in Nigeria and Africa.

One of the highlights of the night was when ace filmmaker, Tunde Kelani mounted the podium to receive the award for Best Local Language Yoruba, which he won with his latest film “Maami”. In his acceptance speech, kelani, expressed delight for the category that recognised that of ‘indigenous African expression’ especially Yoruba language spoken by over 35 million people in Nigeria, Africa and those in the Diaspora. He said as a matter of fact, it is erroneous to described it as a local language. “Who said Yoruba is a local language? Local Ko, local ni,” Kelani said to the bemused audience.

Speaking with P.M.News after the event, Biola Alabi, MD, M-Net Africa, said it has been a night of huge excitement and emotion. “It’s been a true celebration of African film and television, a fitting platform for the stars of our continent, both in front and behind the cameras,” she said.

It was indeed an outstanding night of celebration with fantastic performers from some of Africa’s best, led by Femi Kuti who opened and closed the ceremony, Tiwa Savage, Banky W, Iyanya and Kenya’s Sauti Sol. Also on stage was London-based Congolese stand-up comedian, Eddie Kadi.

M-Net Africa Loses Studios To Strange Fire http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/03/03/m-net-africa-loses-studios-to-strange-fire/ http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/03/03/m-net-africa-loses-studios-to-strange-fire/#comments Sun, 03 Mar 2013 01:24:10 +0000 http://pmnewsnigeria.com/?p=156066

The multi-million naira state-of-the-art MNet Africa studios in Ojota Lagos, Nigeria was gutted by a strange fire Saturday.

The fire, P.M.News gathered, started at around 3p.m and it destroyed all the equipment and studios including that of massive Tinsel, Supersports, Jara, Studio 53 and the live audience studio normally used for the Glo Naija Sings, all located within the Phillip Building before the arrival of men of the Fire Services.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained. However, no life was lost during the incident.

Witnesses said the fire started at about 3 p.m in one of the studios and spread to three other studios owned by Multichoice and DSTV.

Mr Felix Awogu, the General Manager of Super Sports, told NAN that some of their workers were in the studio preparing to transmit live matches from Europe to some parts of Africa when the fire started.

“The fire incident would affect production of super sports to some African countries. We thank God that no life was lost. We appreciate the timely presence of the fire service from Lagos State.

“Four studios were affected. All equipment in those studios were all gone. It is most unfortunate, but nothing anybody could do about it. Thank God no life was lost,’’ Awogu said.

A Director with Phillips Company, the owner of the building, Mr Biodun Dickson, also told NAN that facilities destroyed by the fire would cost millions of dollars, stressing that about 1,000 jobs would be affected by the incident.

On his part, the Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasak Fadipe, said that they got information about the fire at about 3.05pm, stressing that he immediately sent some men to the scene with tanker.

“When my men came, they discovered that employees of the companies affected have been trying to fight the fire, and it has gone beyond them before calling the service.

“I ordered for more men from Ilupeju, Isolo and Alausa. We had five trucks of water, including one with chemical. Each of the tankers contains about 10,000 litres of water. We have put out the fire.

“The fire was difficult to put out due to free burn materials used to build the studios. The facility has no hydrant point in the premises. There was no casualties or injuries recorded. We will investigate the possible cause of the fire,’’ Fadipe added.

But the magnitude of the loss, we learnt, actually dampened the spirit of the top executives of the multinational cable and satellite content company who are in the thick of preparations for the highly anticipated debut edition of the AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Awards, coming up next Saturday 9 March.

An official of the company who spoke to P.M.News last night gave an assurance the fire would not affect the continental awards.

Consumer Council asks DSTV to do Pay-as-you-go http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/11/20/consumer-council-asks-dstv-to-do-pay-as-you-go/ http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/11/20/consumer-council-asks-dstv-to-do-pay-as-you-go/#comments Tue, 20 Nov 2012 11:45:44 +0000 http://pmnewsnigeria.com/?p=145280 Multichoice Nigeria Limited, the owners of the cable television, has been urged by the Consumer Protection Council to introduce pay-as-you-go subscription, to assuage aggrieved consumers of its Digital Satellite Television (DSTV).

According to Nigeria Communications Week, Multichoice Nigeria Limited however said that the firm did not have the platforms to implement pay-as-you-go system of payment but promised to look into it.

caption id=”attachment_102995″ align=”alignright” width=”495″] A DStv product: Mobile Walka Handheld TV[/caption]NCW reported that at a recent meeting between the CPC, and management of DSTV, the council, said the time was ripe for the introduction of the pay-as-you-go subscription in the interest of millions of subscribers of the satellite television.

CPC sought to know the reason why this form of subscription could not be introduced in Nigeria as it has been done in other climes for the economic well-being of consumers.

According to the Council, the pay-as-you-go subscription would allow consumers get value for their money, give them an option of choice as well as enable them control their consumption.

Besides the suggested introduction of the pay-as-you-go subscription, the Council also canvassed for some form of compensation to subscribers for loss of transmission signals, usually experienced by them during adverse weather conditions, particularly rainy season, known as “rain fade”.

Other issues discussed at the meeting included proper and adequate supervision of DSTV dealers and agents and seeming delay in resolution of consumer complaints by the company.

Responding, the delegation from Multichoice Nigeria explained that Multichoice is an access-to-content selling company and could not determine what it could purchase or sell to the smallest unit which would allow a pay-as-you-go payment system to function.

On the issue of compensation for down-times for signals, Multichoice explained that loss of signals during the rainy period is a natural occurrence, which could hardly be curtailed, promising, however, to look into the Council’s position that some form of compensation should be given to subscribers for this occurrence pending the development of a new technology that may solve the problem.

The company pointed out that it has always been committed to speedy resolution of consumer complaints, stating that there may, however, be slight delay in resolution if the problems were technical in nature.

While giving Multichoice the opportunity to further deliberate on the issues discussed at its management level, the Council was insistent that the Nigerian consumers must be given choices and options available in other countries and mandated the company to look into the above issues with despatch.

Have Your say: Should DSTV introduce Pay-as-you-go mode of subscription? Reactions are welcome

Ben 10 Is Back http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/10/08/ben-10-is-back/ http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/10/08/ben-10-is-back/#comments Mon, 08 Oct 2012 11:40:55 +0000 http://pmnewsnigeria.com/?p=140528 The new 4th series of Ben 10, Omniverse, was launched on TV screens, Cartoon Network and DSTV on Saturday with a special one hour: Ben 10 Omniverse screening of episode 1 and 2  of The more things change.

Since the premiere of the original Ben 10 series in 2006, the show has proven to be an international cultural and business phenomenon.

Ben 10 has spawned four animated series, two live-action feature-length television movies, one feature-length animated movie for television and one live-action feature film currently in development.

In the brand-new animated series, Ben 10 Omniverse, Ben has a new character design that pays homage to his past, as well as a whole new batch of aliens to battle. With a little help from his new, by-the-book partner, Rook, Ben explores the quirkier side of things in the alien underground and discovers enemies from his past looking for a rematch; all while a mysterious hunter is hot on his trail.

Ben 10 Omniverse is the latest original series from Cartoon Network Studios, with Matt Youngberg (Transformers: Animated) as the supervising producer.

As usual, Ben has no time for sightseeing, especially since a mysterious new villain, Khyber the Huntsman has him in his sights. Ben has defeated all kinds of evil in the past and he has saved the universe at least a dozen times, but even with his hit new Omnitrix, which puts 10 brand new aliens at his disposal, the question remains: has Ben finally met his match? Khyber’s dog wears the Predatrix watch, and with it, he is able to become any one of the galaxy’s 10 deadliest predators.

In addition, the new series will feature never-before-seen flashback adventures of young Ben, Gwen and Grandpa Max, as they face Malware, the evil Galvanic Mechamorph who corrupts anything he touches. This ties in to the present-day Ben’s story, as Malware returns, and this time, he is not alone.
