The Ghanaian government has deployed 205 soldiers to The Gambia to implement ECOWAS directive on the swearing of Adama Barrow as president today.

ECOWAS leaders had given President Yahya Jammeh until yesterday to quit power and allow for a peaceful transfer of power but Jammeh remained adamant.

Senegalese and Nigerian troops have already taken positions at the borders to implement ECOWAS decision.
