The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Lagos State Command has arrested a woman, Ediale Ayodele, 35, for stabbing an official of Ikeja Electric.

Ayodele, who lives at No. 6, Ayodola Close, Akonwonjo, allegedly stabbed the official who was on a routine forecast drive in the area. The official was said to have come to the said property to check on a disconnection carried out some weeks back when the altercation occurred.

The Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos Command, Tajudeen Balogun, warned that the act of attacking officials of Ikeja Electric would not be tolerated and that anybody found to have committed such an act would be made to face the wrath of the law as the officials were carrying out their lawful duty.

The suspected illegal private guards
In another development, the command paraded three illegal private guards. They are Moses Edem (26), Theophilus Bitrus (25) and Okopi Owochio (25) who identified themselves as personnel of CLIFF Security limited which is not a licensed private guard company.

According to Balogun, the private guard company had no operating license and office, saying that the officials were arrested at Simbiat Abiola Street, Ikeja.

The commandant enjoined the public and private business outfits not to patronize illegal private guard companies, as it portended security risks.

He further said that NSCDC was the sole agency legally mandated to license and monitor the activities of these security outfits.
