Lagos diverts traffic at Ojota loop

The Lagos State Government has notified motorists that access from the service lane into the Ikorodu Road at the Ojota Loop inward Ikorodu has been closed, while access from the highway into the service lane is equally closed.

A statement issued by Biola Fagunwa, Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Transportation said the initiative had become necessary in view of the need to carefully manage traffic along the axis and maximize the gains of various traffic management strategies adopted.

“All those intending to link the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway are to take their journey through the service lane to link up at the Loop. There are exits into the service lane just after the Ojota Garage and after the pedestrian bridges along the Ikorodu bound traffic.

“While traffic control personnel and appropriate signs have been installed, it is pertinent to ask motorists to partner with them to ensured free flow of traffic,” the statement said.

The statement said motorists, especially the commercial bus operators must restrict their activities to the service lanes and ensured that they used designated bus stops for picking and dropping passengers.
