The Special Adviser to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State on Environment and Public Utilities, Hon. Frank Amiegbebhor, has said that the people of the State stand to reap unquantifiable benefits from the just concluded visit of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Amiegbebhor who spoke to P.M. NEWS in Benin on the significance of Buhari’s working visit to the State, said the people have Governor Oshiomhole to thank for bringing the president to the state to commission landmark projects.

He noted that for Mr. President to have left the comfort of his office to come to Edo to commission projects and his inspiring comments are signs of his respect and appreciation for the person of Governor Oshiomhole and for the people of the State also.

“You must agree with me that Mr. President runs a tight schedule. So, for him to have set aside two days to come to the State to share in the joy of the governor and to commission his parting gifts to the people of the State is a sign of respect to the Governor and the people of Edo.

“The presence of Mr. President will no doubt further strengthen the relationship between the State and the Federal Government. His words of commendation on those projects inspected and commissioned will also boost the confidence of both local and foreign investors in the State.

“The State will soon begin to witness influx of investors and that will surely translate to employment generation, increased commercial and economic activities and more revenue for the State Government.

“Don’t also forget that our revered Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, in his welcome speech to the President, requested for more federal presence in the state and also made case for the transformation of Gelegele jetty to an export processing zone.

“And according to the monarch, the transformation of Gelegele will boost the employment generation policy of the government and contribute to the economic development of the State in particular and the country at large.

”So, to me, there is no gain saying that Governor Adams Oshiomhole has bequeathed to the people of Edo a legacy of infrastructure and respect from the outside world, which will certainly translate to a smooth take off for the incoming administration of Mr. Godwin Obaseki,” Amiegbebhor said.
