An Egor Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday in Benin City granted a bail of N250,000 each to two men — Osahenrumwen Ubebe, 31, Ike Maduabuchi, 31 — over alleged theft of iron rods valued at N260, 000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Igho Braimoh, who gave the ruling, also granted the accused persons one surety each, who must be civil servants.

The accused persons are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Osayomwanbor Omoruyi, told the Court that the duo with others now at large committed the offences on Oct. 13 at about 11. 00 p.m. at Hi-Tech premises in Asoro Bus Stop, Evbuotubu, Benin City.

Omoruyi alleged that the men stole some iron rods valued at N260,000, property of Hi-Tech Company Nig. Ltd.

The offence contravened Sections 390 (9), 427 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Edo.

They, however, pleaded not guilty.

The magistrate adjourned the case to Nov. 22 for hearing.
