The wife of Oyo State governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, has condoled with the families of the victims who lost their lives in a crash that occurred at Oja-Oba, Ibadan, on Tuesday.

A trailer load of cement was alleged to have lost control in the early hours of Oct. 18, killing four persons and left several others wounded.

In a statement signed by Gov. Ajimobi’s Special Assistant on Media, Yemisi Owonikok, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday, she expressed grief and commiserated with the relatives of the deceased.

She prayed that God should comfort affected the families and give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

According to her, occurrence like this which could be averted by paying attention to details and routine checks on vehicles are very painful, as they throw the families of the deceased into anguish and excruciating distress.

She urged health organisations to rally round and make sure those that were injured are duly catered to and given adequate care to make them recover soon.

Ajimobi also appealed to traders to abide by the state government’s law prohibiting street trading.

She noted that the impact of the incident would have been more if traders had their wares on the road as at the time of the accident.

However, she appealed to traders across the state to support the government and obey traffic rules by keeping-off the road for their own safety, as the government is striving to give its citizenry a better life.
