Breaking: Obanikoro dares EFCC, arrives Abuja from US

Musiliu-Olatunde-ObanikoroIn a daring move to prove his innocence, former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, arrived the country this morning from his base in the United States of America to answer the allegation of corruption levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft body had sent an invitation to the former minister to come and explain his involvement in the alleged N4.75bn arms funds traced to him and his sons.

Obanikoro who arrived Lagos early this morning was on his way to Abuja to meet EFCC officials to reveal all he knew about the arms fund at the time of filing this report.

A firm belonging to Obanikoro’s sons, Sylvan McNamara, is being investigated by the commission for allegedly receiving N4.75bn arms funds from the office of the former National Security Adviser between April 4, 2014, and December 15, 2014.

EFCC alleged that N4.745bn was paid into a Diamond Bank account of Sylvan McNamara during the period stated above, adding that it has documentary evidence to back up its claim.
