Oyo holds council polls Feb 11, 2017

Oyo State Government has concluded arrangements to hold the local government elections on Saturday, February 11, 2017.

Chairman of Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Mr. Jide Ajeigbe said council election would no longer be delayed considering the fact that all obstacles to the conduct of the election have been cleared.

The state has 33 local government areas and 35 local council development areas.

Earlier this year, Governor Abiola Ajimobi assured the people of the state that his administration would hold local government election last September but failed to do so.
