An Oredo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Benin on Thursday remanded one Salisu Muhammed, 28, in prison custody for alleged kidnapping.
The prosecutor, Mr D.E. Emmanuel, told the Court that the accused abducted one Ibrahim Danladi on July 16, in Benin.
Emmanuel said the offence contravened Section 4 of the Kidnapping Prohibition (Amended) Law of Edo, 2013.
The plea of the accused person was not taken.
The Magistrate, Mrs M.C. Ogobo said the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain such case.
Ogobo said that the duplicate copy of the case file would be sent to state Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advise.
She adjourned the case till Sept. 30, for mention.
